Leadership Team
Sonoma Collective is led by a team of pastors, staff, elders, deacons, and a board of directors who share one calling: to help people experience the love of God by following Jesus and doing what he did. We believe leadership in the church should look like the leadership of Jesus himself—not lording authority over others, but laying down our lives in service. As Jesus told his disciples, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant… for even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:43–45).
Our leaders are men and women of character and calling who serve as co-laborers, each entrusted with a particular kind of care for our church family. Together they guard the vision God has given us, shepherd the spiritual life of our people, steward our resources with integrity, and meet the practical needs of our community—so that it can be in Sonoma as it is in Heaven.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors, made up of both elders and other trusted leaders, is the governing body responsible for the business and legal stewardship of Sonoma Collective as a nonprofit—overseeing finances, legal, employment, and organizational health so our staff and elders are freed to lead the spiritual life of the church.

He and Tracey have been married for over 25 years and have raised four children who love and serve Jesus. Drawing from both personal experience and biblical wisdom, Marcus enjoys serving as a founding board member for Sonoma Collective.
Elders
The elders are the spiritual leaders of Sonoma Collective, entrusted with the care, direction, doctrine, and discipline of our church. Following the pattern laid out in Scripture (1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–9, 1 Peter 5:1–4, Acts 20:17–35), they shepherd God’s people. Eldership at Sonoma Collective is not a position of power but of servant-hearted leadership, modeled on Jesus, our chief shepherd, who “did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45).
A note on women in church leadership: at Sonoma Collective, we believe that men and women are equally gifted and qualified to lead and serve as co-laborers in the church—including in the office of elder. We see this as both faithful to the teaching of Scripture and as a gift to the health of our community, because when men and women lead together there is a ministry of love and grace more robust than either could sustain alone.
